After Clippard went through his typical pregame throwing routine, he told pitching coach Steve McCatty, and the Nationals decided he would not pitch.

In Ted Leonsis's first season as owner, the team finished with just 23 wins. In an interview with Comcast SportsNet, he admitted that the Wizards weren't very successful at the box office either.

Although he said it felt as if he had broken his foot, Rafael Nadal did not suffer a serious injury during his match Monday and will play his Wimbledon quarterfinal Wednesday.
